Bay Tours

Views! Views! Views! On a San Francisco Bay Cruise!

Head out past the famous Pier 39 sea lions, travel along the San Francisco waterfront, go past the Marina district, Crissy Field and the historic Presidio, see the Civil War era Fort Point, go underneath the Golden Gate Bridge to feel it’s grandeur, and head back with views toward Sausalito and Angel Island – then go around Alcatraz, and come back to the dock below Telegraph Hill.

For Alcatraz Packages that combine the Bay Cruise, we often have Alcatraz tickets when Alcatraz City Cruises is sold out. All Alcatraz Day Tour or Night Tour packages include guaranteed official Alcatraz City Cruises round trip ferry ticket from Pier 33, Alcatraz Landing, San Francisco – to go on the island and inside the infamous prison – with the award winning cell-house audio tour.

Remember, Alcatraz City Cruises (formerly just Alcatraz Cruises) is the Official Concessionaire and the only transportation provider for trips to Alcatraz Island. To get on the Island, you must have an Alcatraz City Cruises ticket. DiscoverTown Tours is an Authorized Reseller of Alcatraz City Cruises.

Once on Alcatraz Island, a National Park Service Ranger Orientation and other options are included. For Day Tours, return departures leave roughly every 30 minutes. You can stay as long as you like. You control the clock. Walk slowly or walk fast. Stop the audio and chat. Check out the Discovery Channel produced history video in the old civil war era buildings close to the dock. Peruse the two bookstores, walk the perimeter trail, or discover the history of the American Indian occupation. You can even go out in the prison recreation yard and put yourself back in time, imagining gangsters and criminals in the damp wet fog. The Night Tour is similar, but more guided.

The Night Tour is roughly 3 hours. Typically, most visitors take 2.5-3 hours round trip for the Day Tour, but you can make that shorter or longer.
